Wee One by Whimsy Stamps

Hello friends!  One of my son's friends had a baby girl recently.  So, today I am sharing a baby card which I created using a darling digital image designed by Sylvia Zet (Wee Stamps) for Whimsy Stamps.  You can find that image here.

I coloured this sweet image with Copic markers.  The flowers are handmade.  I finished the card off with some pink sheer ribbon.

Whimsy Stamps has a Facebook group called Whimsy Stamps and Inspiration where you will find some lovely cards/projects.

That's all for this post.  Take care, Lori xx

Lil Witches Halloween card 2 - Whimsy Stamps

Greetings friends!  I posted a Halloween card a few days ago and I am now posting a second card that I made with Whimsy Stamps pre-colored Quick Card Fronts called "Lil Witches".  This second card has the same design but, this time, I used another cute image and inked the edges of the frame with purple instead of aqua.  You can use these fabulous Quick Card Fronts as they are, or you can embellish them.

As before, I used a frame die and inked the edges with distress ink.  Next, I gently inked the edges with black ink to create a spattered effect.  The frame and the sentiment are matted on glitter paper.

That's all from me for this post.  Take care, Lori xx

Lil Witches Halloween card 1 - Whimsy Stamps

Greetings friends!  Halloween always evokes some special and cherished memories for me of when my kids were little and we went Trick-or-Treating.  They are adults now but that doesn't stop me from making a Halloween card for them. LOL

I decided to use an adorable pre-colored image by Whimsy Stamps called "Lil Witches" Quick Card Fronts.  There are quite a number of these fabulous quick card fronts that are available.  All you have to do is to embellish them, or just use them as they are.

I used a frame die and inked the edges with distress ink.  Then, I gently inked the sides with black ink to create a spattered effect.  I matted the frame and sentiment with black glitter paper.

That's all from me today.  Have a lovely weekend.  Lori xx

Mermaid YouTube Video by Conie Fong

Hi friends!  I am sharing yet another mermaid card.  You can learn how to draw this cutie by following Conie Fong's step by step YouTube video tutorial called Draw With Conie.  Conie Fong also has quite a number of other simple images that she teaches you how to draw.  Here is my Design Team slimline card.

I coloured the image with Copic markers, and then I fussy cut it.  The lovely background paper is by Whimsy Stamps.  It's a lovely scene by itself, but I couldn't resist adding three tiny fish.

In addition to Conie's YouTube channel, she also has two groups on Facebook.  One is called Draw With Conie.  This is where you can share any images that you've drawn using Conie's directions.

The other Facebook group is called Conie Fong Art & Design Group.  There you will find some wonderful inspiration by the other Design Team members and other crafters who love using Conie's images.

Lastly, Conie has an etsy shop (ConieFongArt) where you will find so many gorgeous images.

Nixie Mermaid by Digi Doodle Studios Digi Stamps

Hello friends!  Hope you are doing well.  Hard to believe it is August already, right?  A new challenge begins today on the Digi Doodle Studios Challenge Blog.

There is a wonderful theme this month:  By the Sea/At the Sea/Under the Sea.

I chose the gorgeous Nixie Mermaid image by Digi Doodle Studios Digital Stamps as my DT inspiration.

She is coloured with Copic markers and Polychromos pencils.   I love the fabulous background paper by Whimsy Stamps.  I think it compliments the image beautifully.  The cute little koi is by Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea paper pad.  I fussy cut the koi, and I added some 3-D foam under it to give it a curved look.

I stamped some seagrasses and I drew the rock that Nixie is sitting on.

There is also a Digi Doodle Studios Facebook challenge.  If you join in the fun on one challenge, or both, you may win some truly lovely images by DDS.

Thank you so much for visiting.  I wish you a happy day.  Hugs, Lori xx

Goldie

Hi, crafty friends!

I was looking for something in my craft room a few days ago and I discovered this card that I made a little while ago.   While on Facebook today, I saw a reminder on the Whimsy Stamps and Inspiration group regarding their current blog challenge, so I thought I'd enter my card showcasing Sylvia Zet's  adorable "Goldie" image, found on Whimsy Stamps here:

I coloured her with Copic markers and FC Polychromos pencils.  I used Martha Stewart's Deep Edge Punch called "Flourish Flower Trim" for the sides (which, when the card is open, you can see through the sides).
My flowers are made with EK Success' medium and small "Retro Flower" punches. I also used Memory Box "Loopy Rings" die  http://www.memoryboxco.com/98370-Loopy-Rings-craft-dies_p_138.html
Swarovski crystals, seashell, starfish and gauze are from my stash.
