Lil Witches Halloween card 2 - Whimsy Stamps

Greetings friends!  I posted a Halloween card a few days ago and I am now posting a second card that I made with Whimsy Stamps pre-colored Quick Card Fronts called "Lil Witches".  This second card has the same design but, this time, I used another cute image and inked the edges of the frame with purple instead of aqua.  You can use these fabulous Quick Card Fronts as they are, or you can embellish them.

As before, I used a frame die and inked the edges with distress ink.  Next, I gently inked the edges with black ink to create a spattered effect.  The frame and the sentiment are matted on glitter paper.

That's all from me for this post.  Take care, Lori xx

Lil Witches Halloween card 1 - Whimsy Stamps

Greetings friends!  Halloween always evokes some special and cherished memories for me of when my kids were little and we went Trick-or-Treating.  They are adults now but that doesn't stop me from making a Halloween card for them. LOL

I decided to use an adorable pre-colored image by Whimsy Stamps called "Lil Witches" Quick Card Fronts.  There are quite a number of these fabulous quick card fronts that are available.  All you have to do is to embellish them, or just use them as they are.

I used a frame die and inked the edges with distress ink.  Then, I gently inked the sides with black ink to create a spattered effect.  I matted the frame and sentiment with black glitter paper.

That's all from me today.  Have a lovely weekend.  Lori xx

Pixie by The Paper Shelter Digital Stamps

Hey there, friends!  Summer began in my neck of the woods yesterday.  I have to say that summer is my least favourite season.  Too hot and humid, and way too many bugs.  However, I do love that the days are longer.

Challenge #517 starts today on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog.  This week's theme is THINGS WITH WINGS.  What a versatile theme, right?  I chose the darling Pixie image by The Paper Shelter Digital Stamps.  She is so very sweet!

This card is smaller than the standard slimline cards.  It measures 3.5" x 6.25.  I followed an awesome video tutorial by Karen Aicken.  Her video shows you how to use 6" x 6" papers to create mini slimline cards.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FPXyyvWzig

Here is a side view:

This cutie is coloured with Copic markers and Polychromos pencils.  I applied Liquid Pearls (Petal Pink) to the butterflies' bodies, and Wink of Stella to the fairy's wings.

If you would like to see more inspiration by the other Design Team members, see here.  And, if you join in the fun, you may win some beautiful images.

Thank you for visiting.  It always brightens my day.  Hugs, Lori xx

Poinsettia Gnome by Conie Fong

Hi friends!  I live in the northeastern part of New York and  you are probably aware that the northeastern areas of the U.S. had a severe winter storm yesterday.  We got 35 inches of snow!  My car is completely buried and it's 3 degrees (-16 degrees Celsius).  So cold!

This is my DT card which I designed for Conie Fong's current Facebook challenge.  I used the delightful "Poinsettia Gnome" image, found here:

Come and see what the talented Design Team has created.  And, if you join in the fun, you may win some beautiful images.

This really cute image is "Painter Girl", found here:

I found the paint brushes on a free clip art site.  I fussy cut them, and coloured them and the image with Copic markers. Then, I placed 3-D foam under the paint brushes for dimension.  It's hard to see but I applied Glossy Accents to the paint on the artist palette and the paint on the brush that the girl is holding.  The paint splatters were made with a punch.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I always enjoy reading your lovely comments.  I wish you a happy day.  Hugs, Lori xx
